Business System Consultation Center - Our Business System ColumnVol.135 2023.01.01 Takahashi Minoru

Every software company that couldn't honestly say 'it costs what it costs' has gone under

Thank you for your interest and continued support.
This is Takahashi from the Marketing Plan Research Laboratory.

Do you have any employees who sneakily fiddle with their computers
at your company?

Those individuals might be
and are perhaps invaluable assets.

Employees creating Excel spreadsheets you know nothing about,
employees using software you don’t recall authorizing,
or employees who are staring intently at the server settings screen even though they have no business being there

They are
convinced that “if we did this, our work would be better,”
but since they don’t currently have the means to implement those changes,
they spend their days trying to learn the necessary skills, experimenting behind their boss’s back.

There’s a reason they’re acting so secretive.
・They lack the authority that comes with their job title
・They (don’t yet) have the ability to explain
・They haven’t achieved results (yet)
・They don’t (yet) have a clear plan for implementation

If their boss questions them, the project will fall apart,
that’s why they’re keeping it under wraps.

If their vision comes to fruition,
the company might actually improve.
If they’re working on this on the sly while still fulfilling their daily duties,
I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to turn a blind eye to it,
.

That's all, Thank you for reading.
