Thank you for your interest and continued support.
This is Takahashi from the Marketing Plan Research Laboratory.
I have a question for company presidents who are considering introducing a system or have already done so.
What is the purpose of introducing a system into your company?
The answers often fall into the following patterns:
① Just because
・Because I saw it in a flyer or direct mail
・Because a salesperson recommended it
・Because we made a profit this quarter
・Because the grant was approved
・Because I’m not comfortable using Excel
② Order from management
・Because the bank required it
・Because the parent company demanded it
③ Business relationships
・Because a business partner requested it
・Because we were referred
④ Customer retention
・To promote to business partners that we are “not an outdated company”
・To retain clients by improving our services
・To retain employees (improve employee satisfaction)
⑤ Cleaning house
・Identify underperforming departments or personnel
・To prevent excessive discounting
・To prevent careless handling of inventory
⑥ As a replacement for manual methods (ledgers, pencils, calculators)
・Efficiency, labor savings, and automation
・Want to stop handwriting
・To eliminate errors
⑦ To break free from reliance on veteran staff (reduce labor costs)
・Streamline the chain of command
・Want to share know-how
・Want to apply common rules to more staff
・Ensure everyone performs work at the same level
⑧ Expanding into new businesses, opening new offices, and developing new channels
⑨ Due to unavoidable downsizing
Regardless of the trigger or reason,
if implementing the system makes the company stronger (and more profitable), that’s a huge win.
