Business System Consultation Center - Our Business System ColumnVol.61 2016.01.01 Takahashi Minoru

It's no surprise when systematizing an Excel-based workflow fails

Thank you for your interest and continued support.
This is Takahashi from the Marketing Plan Research Laboratory.

Excel is one of the ultimate system-building tools that can scratch exactly where it itches.
On the flip side, Excel is also a tool that can become a thousand-armed Kannon—a terrifying deity that brings misfortune if you touch it.

We frequently receive requests to systematize existing operations
into a formal system.

However, since these operations have been running on in-house Excel files (i.e., for free) up until now,
the reality of the approval process is that the conclusion
is a reality frequently reflected in approval decisions.

The Thousand-Armed Kannon is not easily defeated.
Starting from what is feasible and within the available budget,
let’s work through these challenges step by step together.

That's all, Thank you for reading.
